Skiers Awarded Scholarships
Eight young Canterbury’ skiers have been awarded junior scholarships by the; Canterbury Ski Association. They are:—Boys: D. Oddie (Tasman Ski Club). P. Ingram (Amuri). W. Parry (Tasman). N. Heard (Canterbury Winter Sports). G. McAlpine (North Canterbury). Giris: Misses E. Everest (Christchurch), J. Dalzell (Craigieburn Valley) and D. Beetham (Christchurch). Under the guidance of the 1968 New Zealand Olympic ski-ing representative, C Womersley, the skiers will spend a week on the North Canterbury Club's field. The course, from September 2 to 7. is aimed at improving the skiers' racing skills.
