Invitation For 1969 f.V Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Rugby Union will have to look closely at all future commitments before considering the invitation for the AU Blacks to tour France next year, the chairman (Mr T. C. Morrison) told the national council yesterday. "We must not over-commit our players,” he said. “The whole plan of future tours must be examined closely.” Members of the French federation met the national council yesterday and sug gested New Zealand make a short tour of France in October. 1969.
They said an official invitation would be extended from the federation immediately after the team's return. Mr Morrison said later that the invitation would need to be treated with some urgency if the tour was to take place next year. A decision would need to be made at the council’s next meeting in Wellington in December.
