FAIRLIE HAS TO RETIRE
tNZ.P.A Reuter—Copyright) NEWPORT. The New Zealand Davis Cup player, B. E. Fairlie, yesterday was forced to retire because of illness from the Welsh tennis championships. He had lost the first set, 8-10, to R. K. Wilson (Britain) at that stage. Fairlie has been troubled by a throat infection for the last fortnight.
