Recovery
The man In charge of the gate at Lancaster Park which gives access from the embankment to the enclosures had his faith in human nature badly shaken just before the start of the Wellington • Canterbury game on Saturday. Approaching him in urgent haste came four men and a woman: the men were carrying a fifth, whose lolling head and glazed look proclaimed a serious state of health. The bearers announced that they were rushing the man to the ambulance, and were given access to the enclosure side of the gate. When they had left the gate a few yards behind, the patient was put on his feet, and the whole party dispersed with considerable alacrity in various directions.
