Sewer Policy Question
The hope that the change of policy by the Christchurch Drainage Board would not further delay the longdeferred sewerage scheme for Islington was expressed by Cr A. Y. Shuker at a meeting of the Paparua County Council last evening. If this was deferred, there would be further problems with drainage from the freezing works, and more complaints about smells, he said. On his motion, the council decided to ask the board for an indication of its intentions. The board recently decided to concentrate more on stormwater drainage than on sewers.
