Classroom Shortage

Existing classrooms at Cashmere High School plus new classrooms which were yet to be built would give the school the right number of rooms to hold only the number of pupils already at the school, the headmaster (Mr T. H. McCombs) told the school's board of governors. The provision of the new rooms was a matter of some urgency, Mr McCombs said. The board received a letter from the Education Department saying a memorandum had been sent to the Ministry of Worts asking when the plans for the new classrooms could be expected. It was decided to write to the board emphasising that the matter was urgent.
