OVERSEAS TRADING

SYDNEY Nickel stocks saw the week out on a firm note on the stock exchange. Great Boulder stole the spotlight with a 130 c gain to 1500 c, and Western Mining was another to stand out with a rise at 25c to 1505 c. C.S.R. continued to gain ground with the shares putting on 6c to 636 c. Banks were firmer with the Bank of N.S.W. leading the way with a 12c gain to 716 c. Sales.—B.H. MELBOURNE With the market firmer, Great Boulder led the mining issues, gaining 100 c to 1490 c, North Kalgurli peaked 1220 c, but later fell back to 1190 c with a gain of 40c. Silver Valley made 15c to 210 c, but Murphy Ores lost 8c to 270 c. Oils tended to vary, Woodside added 10c to 215 c, Oilsearch made 8c to 123 c, but Longreach lost 5c to 120 c. In the industrials more

gains were noted, with rises almost doubling the falls 123 c to 64c. C.S.R. Armed 6c to 636 c. However, B.H.P. remained steady at 2489 c after reaching 2490 c.
