Market Loses More Ground At Close

Both lists were easier as New Zealand stock exchanges ceased for the week. Turnovers were the lowest for some time, suggesting greater resistance by sellers. Leaders on balance declined.

N.Z. Forest Products recovered 4c to 308 c, N.Z. Sea Products rose 2c, to 27c, on good news of Government assistance, and Fletcher and Rothmans rose lc each. U.E.B. Industries and Dominion Breweries lost lc each, and Charles Begg and A. B. Consolidated were each 2c cheaper.

South British Insurance also lost 2c. Woolworths (N.Z.) lost 3c, as did New Zealand Newspapers. Lane, Walker, Rudkin were 5c cheaper. In the overseas list, B.H.P. was 10c down in sales at 2550 c, and Mount Isa lost 15c, to 865 c.
