Six Hurt In Accidents

A St John ambulance, after picking up one person from an accident in Ferry Road, was called on to attend a second accident as it travelled to the Princess Margaret Hospital yesterday afternoon. When his cycle and a car collided in Ferry Road, near Mackworth Street, the scene of the first accident, at 3.46 p.m., James Brent McAllister, aged 11, of 25 Riley Crescent Woolston, suffered head injuries. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital where his condition last night was reported as Mtisfactory. In the second accident at 3.57 p.m., Michael Richard Langford, aged 15, of 43 Wilsons Road, Opawa, suffered arm and head injuries when his motor-cycle and a car collided at the corner of Ferry Road and Fitzgerald Avenue. He also was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition last night was reported satisfactory.

In a collision involving a car and a cyclist at the corner of Manchester Street and Purchas Street St Albans, at 4.37 p.m., the cyclist, Thomas Robert Mounsey, of 31 Veitch Road, Northcote, suffered a hip injury. Mr Mounsey was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition last night was given as satisfactory.

When a power-cyclist and a car collided in Lichfield Street at 6.05 p.m., the powercyclist Francis Bushman, of 65 Barbour Street Linwood, suffered chest, leg, and arm injuries. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition last night was reported satisfactory. Mrs Ann Vosrna, of 18 Dunstan Crescent Hornby, suffered head injuries when two cars collided in Blenheim Road at 6.45 p.m. She was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital, where her condition last night was reported Mtisfactory.

Struck by a car near the corner of Hoon Hay Road and Sparks Road at 8.25 p.m. yesterday a pedestrian, Mrs Helen Veronica Shead, of 203 Hoon Hay Road, suffered head, chest arm and leg injuries. She was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where her condition last night was satisfactory.
