National Tune
(N.Z. Press Association)
WELLINGTON, May 10. The Labour Party’s conference last night passed a remit that “God Save The Queen" be reserved for Royalty or their representatives and that the national song be played at other times. The move resulted from an amendment to a remit asking that a Labour Government declare "God Defend New Zealand” to be the national anthem instead of, as at present, the national song.
