Riccarton Betting Rain ended any hopes for betting increases on the final day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. The withdrawals of form horses such as Dalvui and James Arthur could have cost the club the chance to show increased ort-course betting figures on Saturday. As it was the offcourse total of $139,345.50 dropped by only $14,901.50. The on-course turnover was $100,588, a decrease of $39,621. Turnovers for the three-day meeting were: On-course 9377,150, down $75,413; off-course 9507,451.50, down $37,134.50.
