HAROLD BANK
Third Win At Home Harold Bank showed he wai a youthful home track specialist in winning the Richmond Handicap at Riccarton on Saturday. Mr W. A. Ford’s Dogger Bank gelding has now won .three races, all at Riccarton. His win on the final day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s autumn meeting was after a fourth and a fifth earlier in the week. Mis first win was at the Hororata meeting in December and the other at the C.J.C. summer meeting in February. Harold Bank shook off a challenge from Volante for victory by three-quarters of a length on Saturday but many of the honours of the race were with the runner-up, Volante was one of the slowest away and had to make a fast run to join Hombre and Harold Bank in the leading line. Hombre faded slightly in the final furlong but was a creditable third three-quarters of a length from Volante. Court Star beat the place favourite, Tigris Note, for fourth.
