Noisy Motor Vehicles
Sir,—The complaint of your correspondent about noise in the Square appears to be more noticeable to the general public than to the heads of the traffic department and police. I approached a traffic officer after a very noisy exhibition on a recent Sunday afternoon and was told the noise was not excessive It is apparent that these offi cers are not prepared to go for these louts as they should. There are a number of vehicles about with a “cutout." I was under the impression a “cut-out” was illegal. Perhaps they are hard for our officers to detect. — Yours, etc, EAR PLUGS. April 18, 1968.
