By won Likely In Mile
(Special Crspdt. N.Z P. 4 > SYDNEY. The New Zealand horse. Bywon. which arrived in Sydney only six days before the Don caster Handicap, has a chance to earn expenses in the onemile Cumberland Handicap at Randwick today. A good run could persuade his connections to keep Bywon in Australia for the rich races in Brisbane in June and July. A mile seems Bywon’s best distance. Today he has topweight with 8-12. Bvwon was far from disgraced in the Doncaster, in which he finished tenth. In the one-mile All-aged Stakes last. Monday he ran third to Unpainted, the Doncaster winner.
Negative.—Swabs taken from Anna Brigade and Ike Fire at the Ashburton trials on March 26 both gave negative returns, according to the secretary of the New Zealand Trotting Conference (Mr J. Rowley). The swabs were the first taken from qualifying trial candidates in New Zealand.
