Half-sisters To Change Hands
The Greatest and her younger half-sister. My Greatest, will have their final races in the colours of their South Otago breeder, Mr H. G. C. McLachlan, at Riccarton today. Mr McLachlan has leased both mares for the rest of their racing careers—The Greatest to the Wingatui trainer, W. J. Hewitt, and My Greatest to a patron of A. I. Powell’s Wingatui stable. My Greatest (by Dogger Bank) will not do any early racing from the Powell stable.
She will be spelled on Mr McLachlan’s property after her race in the Harewood Handicap today. My Greatest could finish her racing for Mr McLachlan on a winning note. She has recorded thirds at her two previous appearances at Riccarton this week. The Greatest (by Cassock), won the Templeton Handicap on Wednesday and ran third in the Great Easter Handicap on the first day of the meeting. She is one of the strong form prospects in the Waltham Handicap today.
