The Storm
Sir, —1 am sure I spoke for! many in expressing gratitude for the “meals on wheels” service. Meals were delivered three times as usual in the last week. In bad weather the friendly people who deliver the excellent, low-cost meals merit special thanks; in hot weather, the cooks and those who prepare vegetables and fruit. Helpers are mostly volunteers.—Yours, etc., (Miss) A. FULTON. April 17, 1968. Sir, —1 was pleased to see that someone wrote a tribute to the tradesmen who delivered bread and milk during the recent storm. Could I add my grateful thanks to the linemen who did such a wonderful job in restoring our electricity so quickly and who must have had a most unenviable task in the worst of conditions?—Yours, etc., A GRATEFUL HOUSEKEEPER. April 18, 1968. [We have no space to print further letters thanking those who maintained or restored services during the storm.— Ed., “The Press.”]
