While her bracket-mate, Rajah Sahib, was kept to an easy five furlongs, Fashion Plate stepped out on a heavy No. 1 grass at Ellerslie yesterday morning to beat Weenell and Aqualoo hands down over six furlongs. Ridden by H. N. Rauhihi, Fashion Plate went brilliantly with weenell (Day) and Aqualoo (Foley) In Imin ISsec, the first three furlongs in 38sec. Fashion Plate, revelling in the conditions, finished five lengths clear of Weenell, with a further fap of four lengths to AquaRajah Sahib (Rauhihi), which will be trying for hie third win at the meeting, went comfortably over five furlongs in Imin 4 4-ssec, the last three strongly, under a good hold, in 38 l-ssee. At Takaninl, on a heavy No. 2 grass, Mayo Gold (Macdonald) did everything asked of her when she beat her stablemate, Prince Petary (Brown), by a length and ran the best six fur longs in imin 18 i-ssec.
