Men Remanded In Custody
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 18. Two men arrested in a car at Ohinewai with the Auckland Prison escaper, Mihaly Bede, on April 9 were remanded in custody by Mr E. F. Rothwell, S.M., today to April 22. Michael Davidson, aged 26, a painter, and Brian Raymond Brett, aged 34, a painter, were charged with possessing gelignite on April 9 at Ohinewai and with assisting a prison escaper. Davidson was further charged with breaking and entering the professional golf shop at the Akarana golf course, and with possessing instruments by night capable of being used for burglary. No pleas were taken.
