Building In Waimairi
Bifilding permits issued by the Waimairi County Council in the year ended March 31 last totalled 1719, valued at $5,691,186, compared with 2066 permits worth $7,808,368 in the 1966-67 year. The average value a house last year was $7825, compared with $8166, and at March 31. there were 208 dwellings under construction, compared with 416. The main building activity last year was in Avonhead ($1,187,880) and Harewood ($1,196,708). Permits issued by the council in March totalled 139, worth $379,012, compared with 190 permits worth $630,494 in March, 1967.
