TOUR WELCOMED
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright > CAPE TOWN. “Now we will be getting ready for them, and ready to welcome our friends in our own country,” Dr Danie Craven, president of the South African Rugby Board, said yesterday. He was commenting on the news that the New Zealand Rugby Union’s annual meeting had unanimously accepted South Africa’s “open” invitation to tour in 1970. The All Blacks will be a
fully representative side, Including Maoris, if they justify selection. Political sources In Cape Town said that the only thing that could have raised problems was if the New Zealanders had attempted to make an issue of sending Maori players. One source said: “But they haven’t done this. We have invited them to send a national team, without specifying who should be in it. Let it go at that and everything will be all right.”
