The president of the Canterbury Astronomical Society (Mr R. W. Evans) told members at the annual meeting that the membership had reached a record 85. Officers elected were: president, Mr Evans: vice-presi-dent, Mr N. E. Heath: secretary, Mr B. D. Griffiths; treasurer, Mr J. Simpson; editor, Mr R; W. Cross; auditor, Mr S. F. Phipps; committee, Messrs C. H. Rowe, C. Preen, F. P. Andrews, M. Clark, S. W. Mochnacki, and P. J. Jordan.
