FOIL TO HANNA
Provincial Fencing R. Clarke, of Wellington, won the men’s epee title, and J. Hanna (Canterbury) the men's foil when the fencing tournament between Canterbury and Wellington ended at the Riccarton High School gymnasium yesterday. The women’s handicap foil title was won by Miss L. Clarke (Canterbury). All three titles were decided by a barrage. Otago were supposed to compete but bad weather prevented this. Results were:— Mtn Foil.—Final: Hanna, five wins, one loss, 1; O. Davies (W.), five, one, 2; G. Stratigopoulos (W.), four, two, 3; P. Garland (C.). three, three, 4; S. Hampton (W.), three, three, 5; O. Flaws (W.), one, five, 6. Epee.—Final: Ciarke, four wins, one loss, 1; Garland, four, one, 2; Hanna, two, ■ three, 3; Hampton, two, three, 4; Stratigopoulos, two, three, 5; A. Hunter (W.), one, four. 6. Sabre.—Final: Flaws 1, Stratigopoulos 2, Hampton 3. Woman Foil Handicap.—Final: Miss Clarke, five wins, one loss, 1; Mrs O. Jekyll (C.), five, one, 2; Miss W. Fletcher (W.), four, two, 3.
