Building In Waimairi
The average cost of dwellings being built in the Waimairi county last month was $6.60 per square foot, compared with $6.25 in February last year, the Waimairi County Council was told last evening. Building permits issued last month numbered 161 and were worth $530,210, compared with 171 permits valued at $538,384 in February last year, the chief building inspector (Mr E. Hughes) said in his report. Major items in the list of permits includled a 3300 sq. ft dwelling valued at $34,600 to be built for Mr R. S. McLeod at 561 Harewood Road.
