Waikato Wins Cup Match
(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE. Waikato won the right to challenge for the Hawke Cup when it scored a first-innings win ever Poverty Bay in an elmiinatlon match played in Gisborne. Poverty Bay batted first and was all out tor 137. S. Velth was the top scorer with 48, and N. Puna took four wickets for *5. In reply, Waikato declared with seven wiekets down for 407. Top scorers were B. Murphy ft* and A. Roberts 101 not out.
Poverty Bey managed to stave eff outright loss .by being six down for 138 at stumps.
