Whittle Fails To Conceive
"The Press’* Special Service WANGANUI. The Wanganui mare, Whittle, was mated with Bellborough earlier this season but has failed to conceive. Her owner, Mr G. Massey, had the mare examined last week. It was the second attempt to mate her with Bellborough. Whittle ran her last race at Bulls in October. She was retired because of soreness in a shoulder.
Mr Massey said Whittle was thriving and "full of zest," and he was considering another campaign for the five-year-old.
