MR W. J. SPRING (From Our Own Reporter! TIMARU, Jan. 21. Mr William James Spring, a well-known Seadown dairy farmer, died at Timaru on Friday. He was 70. Born at Seadown, Mr Spring was educated at St Patrick's College,' Wellington. He was a breeder of gallopers and standardbreds and was a steward of the Timaru Trotting Club from 1951 until he was elected to the committee in 1962. He remained a member of the committee for four years. He also was a member of the South Canterbury Hunt Club.
Mr Spring was chairman of the South Canterbury Cooperative Milk Supply Comoany, Ltd, a position he had held since it was formed 23 years ago. He was also chairman of the Timaru Milk Company.
Mr Spring is survived by a son and two daughters.
