WASHHOUSE BURNED
The washhouse of a house at 105 Peverel Street Riccarton. was burned yesterday afternoon. The adjacent kitchen and bathroom were also damaged by fire and the rest of the house was affected by smoke. One machine from Sydenham and one from headquarters answered the call which was received at 1.50 p.m. Two deliveries were used to extinguish the fire, which had spread into the roof. The house Is occupied by Mrs L. Franklin.
