Dog Joining Lions
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Nov. 28. A dog will become a “Lion" at an unusual ceremony in Invercargill on Wednesday night. A golden labrador, Cassius, the seeing-eye dog of a blind Invercargill man, Mr G. Lotighran, will become a member of the Invercargill Lions Club together with his master. The club president, Mr I. T. Whitaker, said today that Mr Loughran would have to be accompanied by his dog to be independent at club activities. It had been decided therefore to make Cassius a club member.
