Wage Rise In T.A.B.
Annual wage increases of between $5l and $lO7 for male workers, and increases of between $5l and 8103 for female worker* have been approved under a new award for the Totalisator Agency Board clerical and office staff employees. The award, which includes an unqualified preference provision, is retrospective to September 19. The new minimum wage rate for male* increases from $BlO in the first year to $2OOO in the tenth year, and for. females from $BlO tn the first ’ year to $1630 in the eighth year.
The hourly rate to be paid to casual workers has been increased by 3.8 c to a minimum of 90.5 c an hour.
The new award doe* not apply to employee* receiving more than $2350 a year, excluding overtime payment* and bonuses.
