Payments Total $22,639
(From Oer Own Boportor? GREYMOUTH, Oct 13. The committee administering the Strongman mine disaster fund has spent $22,639 of the donations of $81,708.
Payments have been made to meet children’* school fees, dental treatment account* owing by estate*, the erection of headstones, holiday expense*, university fees, purchase of furniture, and homes, repayment of mortgages, and repairs and alterations to homes. In addition regular cash payment* are made to the widows.
Interest received on the funds amount* to $1607.
Although th* fund is officially closed donation* still come in. The latest three received are Federation of Labour, $12.62; M.U.1.0.0.F., $52.90; Red Cross Society, $6235.
