Hockey Coaching Tour Of N.Z.

A highly-rated overseas coach, Mr .E. Willilg, would make a dx-week sponsored coaching tour of New Zealand, said the chairman of the coaching sub-com-mittee (Mr F. A. Mong) at a meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association's management committee on Monday evening.

r The tour would begin in Christchurch on May 20 and another 10 centres would be visited by July 2, said Mr Mong. Mr Wiilildg had coached the Spanish Olympic team for the last two Games and had made similar tours in many countries, said Mr Mong. He would take over the New Zealand squad twice, at Auckland and Christchurch. The tour, sponsored by Rothman's would take the form of lectures as well as practical demonstrations and direct coaching with squads. The association expressed concern that it might not be able to continue its bulletin, but suitable arrangements were made.

Mr J. L. Squire was nominated to the tNew Zealand Olympic Association's selection panel. He will replace Mr I. G. Leggat. Messrs I. D. Armstrong (Dannevirke) and R. H. Mackinlay (Dunedin) have been reappointed selector-coaches for New Zealand. Messrs I. D. Armstrong (convener), K. D. Nicholson and G. Oaks were appointed North Island selectors, and Messrs R. H. Mackinlay (convener), D. Hefford and R. Cummins were appointed South Island selectors. Messrs B. V. Cox (convener), L. Goodman and G.
