Wether Lambs’ Firm Sale

A good yarding of wether lambs made a firm sale at thia, week's Tinwald stock sale. MrW. D. Weir, of Tinwald, sold - 90 shorn Romneys at 46s 6d. Mr O. C. Begg, Uncoln Hills,*' sold 250 Romneys at 44s to 455.Ewe lambs were yarded In* larger numbers and with the* exception of pre-wool sheep/ met with little demand. A line' of 250 three-quarter bred ewe lambs from the Mayfield district sold from 55s to 635. One" hundred Corriedale ewe lambs" sold at 60s. Two-tooth ewes met a dull market while adult ewes were firm on recent rates.

Range of prices was:— Fat Lambs. —Shorn, best 50s to 52s 6d; mediuiU, 46s to 50s; light, 40s to 455. Woolly: best, to 58s; msdium 50s to 545: light, to 495. Two-tooths wethers: best, to 655: medium 48s to 535; light 42s to 465. Ewes: best, 37s to 395; medium, 33s to 365; heavy-weight, 27s to 30s; light to 275. Wether Lambs. —Shorn: best, 44s to 46s 6d; good, 38s to 435; average, 33s to 375; others to 325. Woolly: best, 44s to 48s; good, 37s to 435; average, 30s to 365.

Ewe Lambs.—Romney, shorn: best, to 40s 6d; others, 30s to 345. Woolly: best to 555; good, 48s to 51s 6d; others to 465. Three-quarter bred: 55s to 635. Corriedale: 60s. Border cross: 40s to 445. Adult Ewes,—9s three-shear at 54s 6d.
