Meeting Held
“A meeting between representatives of the executives of Calvary and St George’s Hospitals and doctors who were concerned at the ruling excluding fathers and physiotherapists from obstetrical delivery rooms was held on Thursday evening,” said Dr. A C. Sandston, spokesman for the Canterbury-Westland division of the Medical Association of New Zealand. "Also present at the meeting were representatives of the Registered Nurses’ Association, New Zealand Society of Physiotherapists, and nursing and medical executives of the North Canterbury Hospital Board.
“A full exchange of views took place at the meeting, and the representatives of the two hospitals concerned undertook to give the matter further consideration.”
