Israeli Farmer Hit In New Clash

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—-Copyright) TEL AVIV, April 13. An Israeli farmer was seriously wounded in the head in firing across the Syrian-Israeli border yesterday, the third exchange this week, an Israeli Army spokesman announced.

He said a border post opened fire on a group of farmers who were at least 55 yards from the border on the Israeli side near the village of Gonen. An Israeli patrol returned the fire.

He denied Damascus reports which said three Israelis were killed and two wounded in the incident. A Syrian military spokesman said an Israeli patrol crossed into Syrian territory.
