Church Hall In Waimairi
A church hall for use as a preaching place, which will be made available for use by other congregations and for community activities, will be erected in Waimairi road )>y the Presbyterian Church. Permission for the venture wu given at the monthly meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery. The Presbytery agreed to hold an extra meeting on May 30 to consider a statement on the ministry of the church by the joint committee on church union. After receiving a report on the parish of Cheviot, the Presbytery agreed to set up a commission to investigate the advisability of making changes in the parish boundaries of North Canterbury. It also agreed to the building of a new hall in the CustOxford parish.
