Car Hits Bridge; Couple Injured
When a car hit a bridge at Gabriels gully on the Lewis Pass road early on Saturday
morning, two persons were injured. Arthur Daily, licensee of the Grand Hotel, Westport, suffered head and leg injuries. His wife, Eileen Maude Daily, suffered head, chest, arm and leg injuries and shock. They were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
Head Injuries.—Robert Mulligan, of 31 Moncks Spur road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries after a car hit a kerb in Redcliffs in the early hours of Saturday.
Car Rolls Over.—When a car rolled over on the Main North road near Pinehaven on Saturday afternoon, Nirmal Duggernault, of 40 Briggs road, suffered serious arm injuries. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
Pedestrian Hurt. Mary Whitaker, of 218 Barbadoes street, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head and leg injuries after she was struck by a car in Cashel street on Saturday evening.
Car Hits Pole.—Head and leg injuries were suffered by Patrick Rowley, of 220 Russley road, when a car struck a pole at Downs road corner, Hororata, on Saturday evening. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
