15-Year-Old’s Success (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) SCARBOROUGH (Yorkshire) Otago’s 15-year-old Miss Y. Fogarty, gained her second overseas table tennis title in a week when she won the junior tins’ event at the North east ngland championships yesterday. She beat Miss L. Forkes, a ranked British junior, in three sets The New Zealand girl lost the first, 19-21, but then her accurate backhand pinned down the Yorkshire girl. She took the final two sets, 21-16, 21-15. Mtss Fogarty also won the junior girls' title at the Scottish championships last week. New Zealand won its second title at the championships when Mrs N. Traill (Northland) and Miss C. E. Johnson (Hamilton) fought back after losing the first set. 6-21, to win the women’s- doubles. They beat Misses L. Proudlock and D. Cuncombe, 6-21, 21-17, 21-13, in the final. In the men's singles, A. R. Tomlinson and M. L. Dunn (Auckland) lost their quarterfinal matches with too many errors of their own making. Tomlinson was beaten. 21-19, 21-13, by J. Williams, and Dunn went down. 21-14. 21-18, to A. Hyde. In the women's singles semifinal, Mrs Traill had an excellent chance to win the second set and the match, against Miss Proudlock. She led 19-18, slipped back to 19-20, and then sent a wild hit wide of the table, and was beaten. 21-19. 19-21, 21-19.
