Viet Cong Deaths
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright' SAIGON, March 28. South Vietnamese troops killed 142 Viet Cong in fierce fighting with a guerrilla battalion in the Mekong delta, a Government spokesman said last night. Government casualties during the fighting in rice paddies and swampland, 62 miles south-west of Saigon, were given as light. But seven American helicopters supporting them were hit by ground fire.
