Auckland Wins (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. • The West Coast team, led by K. J. Dixon, was beaten, 19-6, by Auckland in the final ot the New Zealand Marist Rugby League tournament yesterday. The half-time score was 15-2. For Auckland, tries were scored by P. Schultz (two) and W. Schultz. T. Kriletich converted them and kicked two penalties. For West Coast, three penalty goals were kicked by R. Nelson. A last-minute dropped goal by the centre, J. Hawthorne, gave Canterbury a one-point win over Wellington in the other match. Canterbury won, 17-16, after leading 15-3 at half-time. For Canterbury, tries were scored by P. Smith, W. Beri and R. Irvine. Beri converted two and kicked a penalty, and Hawthorne dropped a goal. For Wellington, tries were scored by J, Weir (two), M. Teariki and D. O’Neill. De Thierry and G. Smith each converted one. The New Zealand Marist Rugby League team was chosen during the tournament, and may play the New Zealand Maoris later in the season. It is:— B. Reidy (Auckland), vicecaptain; R.
