W. J. Hillis Wins Five Races At Birchwood
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. The Riverton trainer, W. J. Hillis, and .the Invercargill owner, Mr W. E. Hazlett, won five of the eight races at the Birchwood Hunt Club’s meeting on Saturday. The combination won with Bush Creek, Urban, Sand Dune and Verey Light. Two of their other, runners, letan Light and Alpine Light, finished second. The T.A.B. double, Cassarook In the President’s Handicap and Willypay in the Otautau Hack Handicap, paid £4B 17s 6d for The meeting was held in fine weather and on a firm track.
