CHILDREN’S TV TRUST
Standards In U.K. Slated (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, March 15. A group of writers, directors and designers have formed a trust to combat what they consider to be the abysmal standard of childen’s television programmes in Britain, “The Times” reports. The Children’s Television Trust will go into production with Henry VIII with Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor as possible stars. The producer-in-chief of the trust, Mr Michael Westmore, said that the film will be shot in colour on location at Fordwich, Kent, and no expense will be spared. He said he thought the standard of many children’s programmes was scandalous. Animated cartoons possibly to be made in Malta, which has a large, skilled labour force—documentaries and musicals are also planned in I the new venture.
