Compensation Discussions (N.Z. Press Association) BLENHEIM, March 15. The Government is currently having discussions with other parties to the Vienna convention on the question of compensation payments to harbour boards in the event of nuclear accidents, the Minister of Marine (Mr Scott) said today. “Harbour boards are naturally concerned about the possibility of being asked to handle radio active cargo and nuclear ships,” the Minister said at the annual conference of the Harbours Association in Blenheim this morning. “We all know the chance lof an accident is remote.” he i said, “but the Government does share the concern of harbour boards should they be involved in compensation payments because of nuclear accident.”
