Swimming Levy Opposed
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Delegates of the Auckland Swimming Centre have decided that, because of the added strain of a levy on large families in the light of the general economic situation, the proposed £1 levy on all New Zealand swimmers and officials should be rescinded.
The levy was agreed at the annual meeting of the N.Z.A.S.A., but has caused much controversy throughout the country.
