Batsman’s Double
(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. The former New Zealand batsman, E. M. Meuli, completed a fine double for Taranaki on the final day of a representative cricket match against Nelson yesterday. After taking five wickets for 28, he scored a fluent 66 not out and was associated in a fourth wicket partnership of 123 in only 70 minutes with J. Irving (89). C. Crothall took four wickets for 48 for Nelson. The match was drawn, with Taranaki scoring 139 and 227 for four wickets in reply to Nelson’s first innings total of 313.
