Work Stops At One Mill
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Mar. 13. Sixty timber workers from C. R. Lovatt and Son’s mill at Whangarei stopped work between 10 a.m. and 12 a.m. today to consider the stopwork meeting called by the Federation of Labour in Auckland. At other Whangarei mills work continued, although the men were given the opportunity to take time off. Mr J. Lovatt said this morning the men had stopped work on the instructions of the Auckland branch of the Timber Workers’ Union.
