DISCONTENT “ABSENT”
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 13. The small poll in Saturday’s Southern Maori by-election showed the absence of any major discontent among voters, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today. Mr Holyoake said the Southern Maori electors had voted on traditional lines. The small increase in the percentage of votes cast for the opposition candidate was a normal characteristic of by-elections.
