COMMODORE TO VISIT

The recently - appointed Commodore of the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve (Commodore J. P. S. Valiant) will next week make his first visit to Christchurch since taking up his appointment.

Commodore Valiant, who will be accompanied by the Director of Reserves (Commander R. La wry) and three staff officers from the Navy Office in Wellington, will make the annual inspection of naval reserves and naval establishments in Christchurch

His visit will begin with an inspection of H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus Headquarters in Montreal street next Monday afternoon.

On Monday evening, he will inspect the ship’s company on parade, at Pegasus and also a guard of honour. On March 22, Commodore Valiant will inspect the naval depot at Cass Bay and also the Division’s launch.
