East-Shirley Runner-up
East-Shirley took second place In the senior B cricket competition on Saturday when it had the only outright victory of the grade. East-Shirley beat Old Collegians B. while Hagley Old Boys slipped back to third with a first innings loss to High School Old Boys. There was no play in the Old Collegians A v. West-University match. Old Collegians B did not lose their last wicket until 5.55 p.m., while Hagley, set 188 to win in an hour, scored 103 for five. Final points:— Old Collegians A 91. EastShirley 76, Hagley Old Boys 72, West-University 34, H. 5.0.8. 31, Old Collegians B 11. ■W-J® and ”1/8 dec. (W. J. Lewis 74, G. B. Saunders 45; B. G. Adamson 4/65, T. L. Jones 2/55) beat Hagley Old Boye 126 and 103/5 (B. J. Hughes 33 not out, Jones 28) on the first innings. 27 ’/» <l«c. beat Old Collegians B 120 and 125 (M. J. Moffat 35 not out, B. Morten 21, D. A. Pickering 22; J. C. Alabaster 5/45, N. Kelly 2/14) by an innings and 31 runs.
