Royal Couple To Meet In Bahamas

(N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright)

TOKYO, Feb. 27. Lord Snowdon, sporting a beard of several weeks’ growth, left Tokyo secretly yesterday to join Princess Margaret on holiday in the Bahamas.

An interview with Lord Snowdon was shown on a Japanese television network today. The commentator said that the beard was a disguise to shield him from publicity during his photographic assignment in Japan for the “Sunday Times.” Lord Snowdon spent several weeks in Tokyo under a false name and revealed himself for the first time yesterday when he recorded the television interview. Lord Snowdon’s beard was evidently a striking success since he escaped unnoticed for 25 days in spite of eager investigations by Japanese reporters assigned to track him down. It is believed that he

brought forward his departure from today to yesterday because the press seemed to be too close. An airline said today that it still had a booking in his name on a flight this afternoon to Seattle.
