STOP-WORK MEETING
About 8000 May Attend (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 26. Even if workers attending the Federation of Labour’s stop-work meeting at Carlaw Park, Auckland, on March 13 do not receive pay, the president of the federation (Mr T. E. Skinner) does not expect any change in the attendance. Commenting on a report that people would almost certainly not be paid for the time they are absent from work, Mr Skinner said, “I don’t think that will make any difference.” He expected about 8000 to attend the meeting. Mr Skinner will address the meeting on the economic situation.
